Tribouley’s ability to wrestle freshness and lift from such a warm climate is remarkable — his wines burst with fruit and tension, a mark of careful viticulture and low yields (12-15 hl/ha). He ferments with ambient yeasts, and neither fines nor filters.
Elepolypossum is pure carignan grown on gneiss. There’s more funk here, notes of garrigue, animale, pepper and a bit of leather, but accompanied by gorgeous dark fruit — black cherry, cassis, and plum. This is much darker in complexion than Copines, but just as refreshing and smooth.
