MARCH 2025 CLUB PLUS REDS
*Sorry no video tasting notes this month, we’re over in France on a tasting trip

1. Saint-Clair St-Joseph “Abîmes d’Enfer” 2022
GRAPE: 100% Syrah
TYPE: Organic Northern Rhône Syrah
YEAR: 2022, warm and dry
NOTES: Basset farms a tiny plot of St. Joseph across the Rhône from his home in Crozes. Denis has named it “Les Abîmes de l’Enfer” (the depths of Hell) for its vertiginous slopes that are so hard to work. The 2022 is an excellent year, more serious than his Crozes-Hermitage, with exceptionally fine-grained tannins and an elegant, persistent palate.
FOOD: Lamb meatballs
AVAILABLE: $35/bot ($28 with discount)

2. Dumien-Serrette Cornas “Henri” 2022
GRAPE: 100% Syrah
TYPE: Northern Rhône Syrah
YEAR: 2022, warm and dry
NOTES: Since 2013, a hundred years after the birth of winemaker Nicolas Serrette’s grandfather Henri, the domaine has produced this wine, called “Henri.” Made from 100% whole clusters and 100+ year old vines, it spends 22 months in oak. The length and depth of this wine is extraordinary—look for notes of black pepper, beef jerky, plums, blackberry jam, and graphite.
FOOD: Roasted pork or rack of lamb
AVAILABLE: $85/bot ($65 with discount)

3. Amiot Morey-St-Denis 1er “Millandes” 2021
GRAPE: 100% Pinot Noir
TYPE: Premier Cru Red Burgundy from Morey-St-Denis
YEAR: 2021, cool and wet
NOTES: The Morey St. Denis 1er cru “Les Millandes” is aromatically similar to Charmes but a bigger wine with more structure and a drinking window that opens just a little later than Charmes (30% new oak, 30% whole clusters). The structure is serious and polished, with fine tannins that carry through the long, clean finish.
FOOD: Duck confit
AVAILABLE: $108/bot ($86.4 with discount)
