Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er “Morgeot” 2024

Thomas Morey’s wines are always clean, precise, and elegant. The 2024 vintage is an excellent showcase for his style, with finished wines that are fine examples of what Jasper Morris MW admiringly describes as the “chiselled Thomas Morey style.”

The Morey family’s Morgeot vines lie farther down the slope in heavier clay soils, giving the 2024 even more richness than Embrazées. It will need time for its elements to come together, but already shows notes of lemon peel and orange skin along with a fine mineral line on the finish. Given patience, it has the depth and structure for real longevity.
