Goubert Gigondas 2023

Florence Cartier continues to steer her family’s Domaine les Goubert with a deft and steady hand. Having converted nearly all of her vineyards to organic, she has adapted her winemaking to the blazing Provençal summers while preserving impeccable balance and clear expressions of the rugged southern Rhône terroir.

Florence’s flagship Gigondas shines in 2023. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault with a splash of Clairette for aromatics, it is raised entirely in tank and neither fined nor filtered. The nose is a gorgeous perfume of strawberry jam and earthy garrigue, while the palate is smooth and juicy with excellent freshness and a modest 13.5% alcohol. Round, harmonious, and approachable from the start, it has the depth, detail, and class that define great Gigondas.
