Bohrmann Meursault “Durots” 18

$69

Bohrmann doesn’t sound very French, and it isn’t — Sofie Borhmann is Belgian, and splits her time between Belgium and Burgundy. We’re not sure where she’s been hiding, or why no other American importers have found her. But her wines simply blew us away.

Meursault “Les Durots” is closer to the classic expression of Meursault. It is at about the same elevation and in similar soil as Boyer-Martenot’s “Ormeau” cuvée, which makes for a rich and round glass that fills the mouth and the senses. While the wine is dry in the technical sense (no residual sugar), it has what the French call “sucrosité,” a taste of sweetness that increases its opulence.
