Bonnefond Côte Rôtie 18

$58

Vinous’s Josh Raynolds called Bonnefond’s 2018s “the single most impressive set of bottlings I have had here since I started annual visits in 2005.”

The Bonnefonds’ regular cuvée of Côte Rôtie, “Colline de Couzou,” is no ordinary entry level wine. Raynolds called it “awfully impressive” and “distinctly suave,” awarding it 93 points. We found the dark, ripe fruit just lovely, with added notes of pepper, minerals, and maybe a touch of iodine. The 2018 vintage of this wine blew us away; we’d compare it to the Rochins cuvée in a less favorable year.
