When we started buying from Gerard Thomas most writers saw St Aubin as a sideshow to the celebrated white Burgundy towns of the Côte de Beaune. Whether it’s a changing climate or merely recognition of what has been there all along, today’s writers put St. Aubin at a comparable quality level; yet the wines remain more affordable.

“Murgers des Dents de Chien,” is one of the top two premier crus in St. Aubin. Although we expect the 2019 to take on weight and complexity over the next year, it is already delicious today. It offers both more intensity than the Champ Tirant and that rich sweetness the French call “sucrosité” (though the wine is technically dry).
